The magnet ball toys violate the mandatory standard for toys because they are loose high-powered magnets, posing an ingestion hazard to children. When high-powered magnets are swallowed, they can attract each other, or other metal objects, and become lodged in the digestive system. This can result in perforations, twisting, and/or blockage of the intestines, blood poisoning and death.
What parents need to know
This recall concerns Based Online Fidget Magnet Ball Toy Sets. These sets contain four silicone-covered magnet balls, each approximately 1.24 inches in diameter, in white, yellow, blue, and purple. The balls are housed in a black fabric zippered case.
The toys have been recalled because they contain loose, high-powered magnets that violate mandatory toy safety standards. If a child swallows these magnets, they can attract each other or other metal objects within the digestive system. This can lead to serious internal injuries, including perforations, twisting, or blockages of the intestines, and can be fatal.
