What parents need to know
This recall involves DUMOS Nine-Drawer Fabric Dressers, sold as television stand dressers in white, black, gray and brown. The dressers have a metal frame, LED lights, and built-in power outlets and ports with an attached electrical cable.
The dressers were recalled because they are unstable if not anchored to the wall, posing tip-over and entrapment hazards that can result in serious injury or death to children. The dressers violate the mandatory safety standard required by the STURDY Act.
If the dresser is not anchored to the wall, parents should immediately stop using it and place it in an area children cannot access. Consumers should contact DUMOS for a full refund. As part of the remedy, consumers will be asked to destroy the dresser by cutting the drawers in half, writing "RECALLED" on it in permanent marker, and sending a photo of the destroyed dresser to DUMOS before disposing of the product.
