Evergreen Fresh Sprouts LLC is recalling Broccoli Sprouts sold in 4oz clear plastic zip lock bags because they may be contaminated with Salmonella. This bacteria can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy people who are infected often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. In rare cases, the infection can enter the bloodstream and cause more severe illness, including infected aneurysms, endocarditis and arthritis.
This product has been related to a multistate outbreak of Salmonella Bovismorbifican, which included 22 cases as of September 9, 2026. The recall was also prompted after a sample of the sprouts tested positive for Salmonella through third-party lab testing. If your child or anyone in your household has eaten this product and develops these symptoms, contact a healthcare provider.
The Broccoli Sprouts were delivered to three distributors in Washington and may have been further distributed and sold in retail stores in Idaho, Montana, and Washington. If you have this product in your home, do not eat it. Parents should immediately discard any affected Broccoli Sprouts. 09/10/2026, Evergreen Fresh Sprouts LLC of Moyie Springs, IDAHO is recalling 215 cases (6/4oz bags per case) of Broccoli Sprouts, because it has the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella , an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. In rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and producing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections (i.e., infected aneurysms), endocarditis and arthritis.
The Broccoli Sprouts were delivered to three distributors in WA between 8/24/26 and 9/2/26, and product may have been further distributed and sold in retail stores to consumers in ID, MT, and WA.
The affected Broccoli Sprouts were packaged in clear plastic 4oz. Zip lock bags, UPC code 8 38796 00105 1, and have the Use By dates of 9/07/26, 9/09/26, 9/11/26, 9/14/26, and 9/16/26.
We were notified that our broccoli sprouts product has been related to a multistate outbreak of Salmonella Bovismorbifican . The outbreak includes 22 cases as of 9/9/2026.
The recall was also initiated when the Broccoli Sprout with the Use By date 9/16/26 was tested positive for Salmonella by a third-party lab. Our company has ceased the production and distribution of broccoli sprouts since 9/04/2026 and is currently conducting a root cause investigation.
