Hazard

The LED Tea Lights violate the mandatory safety standard for consumer products with button cell and coin batteries because the button batteries can be accessed easily by children, posing an ingestion hazard. Additionally, the packaging and product do not have the warnings required under Reese's Law. When button cell or coin batteries are swallowed, the ingested batteries can cause serious injuries, internal chemical burns and death.

What parents need to know

JINHEZO Mini Waterproof LED Tea Lights have been recalled because they do not meet mandatory safety requirements for products that use button cell or coin batteries. The battery compartments in these tea lights can be accessed easily by children, and the packaging and product also lack the warnings required under Reese's Law.

This matters because button cell and coin batteries are dangerous if a child gets access to them. If swallowed, these batteries can cause serious internal chemical burns, other serious injuries, and death. Because the batteries in these tea lights are easy to access, this is a real concern for any household where the product is present.

The tea lights are clear and circular with a white base, about 1 inch in diameter and 1.14 inches tall, and were sold in packs of 24 lights that included 48 coin-cell batteries, two per light.

Parents and caregivers who have these tea lights should stop using them right away. Contact Mystic Zo for a full refund by emailing your order number or bar code number, if available, along with a photo of the tea lights disposed of in the trash, to [email protected]. Because button cell batteries are hazardous, they should be disposed of or recycled following your local hazardous waste procedures rather than thrown out with regular trash.
