What parents need to know

Kmaier has recalled its infant walkers because they do not meet the mandatory safety standard for infant walkers. The walkers can fit through a standard doorway and fail to stop at the edge of a step, which creates a serious fall hazard for babies using them. A fall like this can result in serious injury or death.

The recalled product is the Kmaier-branded infant walker, which comes in pink, green or white, and has a tray, a fabric seat and a round base with six wheels. The walker can be adjusted to nine different height levels.

If you have one of these walkers, stop using it right away. Contact Kmaier for a full refund. As part of the process, you will be asked to disassemble the walker, destroy it by cutting the fabric seat and writing “Recalled” in permanent marker on the top of the tray, and send a photo of the destroyed walker to Kmaier before disposing of the product.

Check the official recall notice for full details, including how to identify your walker and how to complete the refund process.
