Hazard

The magnetic fidget sliders violate the mandatory standard for toys because they can liberate loose high-powered magnets posing an ingestion hazard to children. When high-powered magnets are swallowed, the ingested magnets can attract each other or other metal objects and become lodged in the digestive system. This can result in perforations, twisting, and/or blockage of the intestines, blood poisoning and death.

What parents need to know

This recall involves PIXLABBY's six-piece silicone magnetic fidget sliders, sold as a set in various two-tone color combinations. Each slider has a different textured silicone surface on top and bottom and makes a clicking sound as it is slid back and forth. The logo printed on the front of the box reads "PIXABBY".

The sliders are being recalled because they can release loose high-powered magnets, which violates the mandatory safety standard for toys. This creates a serious ingestion hazard for children. If the magnets are swallowed, they can attract each other or other metal objects and become lodged in the digestive system, leading to perforations, twisting or blockage of the intestines, as well as blood poisoning, any of which can be life-threatening.

CPSC and the company are aware of a report involving a child who removed the silicone casing, reached the two small magnets inside the slider and swallowed them. The child was hospitalized.

Parents and caregivers should take these fidget sliders away from children right away and stop using them immediately. To receive a full refund, consumers should contact PIXLABBY, throw away the fidget sliders, and submit a photo of the disposed toys to the email address provided by the company.
