The recalled Orb Funkee squeeze toys may contain fibrous tremolite (asbestos) in the sand, which can cause adverse health issues if inhaled.

What parents need to know
This recall involves Orb Funkee squeeze toys, which are soft, stretchable toys filled with sand. Two models are covered: model 17451, a large golden “monkee,” and model 41929, an assortment of smaller “monkees” in colors including orange, purple and green. Both carry the date code 3102491A, which is printed on the hand of the golden monkee or on the back of the smaller monkees.
The toys have been recalled because they may contain asbestos in the sand. Inhaling asbestos fibers can lead to serious health problems.
If you have these toys, please remove them from your children's reach and stop using them immediately. You should check the official recall notice for detailed instructions on how to proceed and obtain a refund.
If a toy has been ruptured or pierced, or sand has escaped from it, the notice directs consumers to put on a mask and gloves and use damp cloths to pick up any sand that has leaked out, then place the toy along with the cloths, mask and gloves into a heavy-duty plastic bag, seal that bag inside a second bag, and dispose of it in accordance with local and state regulations.

- Consumers should take the recalled toys away from children, stop using them immediately and contact The Orb Factory for a refund. Consumers will be asked to verify the code and lot number of the toy, place the toy in a heavy-duty plastic bag, seal the bag securely with tape, and submit a photo of the product in the bag to [email protected]. If the toy has been ruptured or pierced, or the sand has escaped the toy, the Orb Factory has directed consumers to put on a mask and gloves and use damp cloths to pick up any sand that has leaked out; put the toy, cloths, mask and gloves in a heavy-duty plastic bag, then place this bag into a second bag (double-bagging) that is to be sealed with tape. Consumers should then dispose of the bag in accordance with local and/or state regulations.
