What parents need to know
Skip Hop has recalled its Baby Sesame Street Elmo Silicone Teether, a teether shaped like Elmo's face in red, orange, and white, with black eyes, that comes with a textured blue key and a fabric crayon box in beige, blue, green, yellow, orange, and red.
The recall was issued because the black eyes on the teether can detach if the product is frozen, creating a choking hazard that poses a risk of serious injury or death to a child.
Skip Hop Inc. has received four consumer reports of the eyes detaching from the teether. No injuries have been reported.
If you have this teether, stop using it immediately and take it away from children. Contact Skip Hop Inc. through the recall website listed in the official notice to receive a refund in the form of a gift card, along with further instructions on how to dispose of the product. The gift card can be used at any The William Carter Company brand store, including Carter's, Skip Hop, OshKosh B'gosh, and Little Planet.
