Sunneday and Blue Bay Above-Ground Pools 48 Inches and Taller Recalled Due to Drowning Hazard; Manufactured by Starmatrix Group
Reviewed and published by MPB Safety Desk
Hazard
The compression strap that surrounds the outside of the pool legs may create a foothold, allowing a child access to the pool, posing a drowning risk.

What parents need to know
This recall involves all Sunneday and Blue Bay brand above-ground pools that are 48 inches or taller. The Sunneday or Blue Bay logo is printed on the liner on the outside of the pool.
The recalled pools have a compression strap that goes around the outside of the pool. This strap can create a foothold, potentially allowing a child to climb into the pool. This poses a drowning risk to children, even if the pool ladder is removed.
If you have one of these pools, you can request a free repair kit from Starmatrix. Until the repair is installed, ensure children cannot access the pool unattended, or drain the pool. You should also consult the official recall notice for detailed instructions on how to obtain a free repair kit and complete the remedy process.
