The recalled LED finger lights violate the mandatory safety standard for toys because they contain button cell batteries that can be easily accessed by children. If button cell or coin batteries are swallowed, the ingested batteries can cause serious injuries, including internal chemical burns, and death.
What parents need to know
This recall involves Syera-branded LED Finger Lights, sold in sets with multi-colored lights and astronaut cards. Each finger light projects an astronaut image and is powered by internal button cell batteries.
The toys are being recalled because they do not meet the mandatory safety standard for toys — the button cell batteries inside can be easily accessed by children. If a child swallows a button cell or coin battery, it can cause serious internal chemical burns and even death. This makes the product a serious safety concern for young children who may put small toys in their mouths.
If you have one of these finger lights, stop using it right away and keep it away from children. Contact Syera for a full refund. As part of the process, you will be asked to remove and properly dispose of the finger light in the trash and send a photo of the disposed product to the email address provided for the recall.
