    Hazard: The after-market play yard mattresses may not adequately fit certain play yards, which is in violation of the mandatory standard for crib mattresses, posing a deadly entrapment hazard. Babies have suffocated in gaps between an undersized mattress, or extra padding, and side walls of a product, especially when the infant's face becomes trapped against the side and the mattress, preventing the infant from breathing.

    Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled mattresses and contact Modera for a full refund. Consumers should cut the mattresses in half and send a photo of the destroyed mattress in the waste bin to recall@moderababy.com to receive a full refund.

    Cranach Hardware Recalls Tip Restraint Kits Due to Tip-Over Hazard; Manufactured by Cranach Hardware

    Hazard: The recalled plastic tip restraint kits (also referred to as furniture straps) can break or degrade, posing tip-over and entrapment hazards that can result in serious injuries or death to children or elderly consumers interacting with furniture that is secured to the wall with the defective plastic tip restraints.

    Remedy: Consumers should stop using Cranach Hardware plastic tip restraints immediately and contact Cranach Hardware for a free replacement tip restraint kit made of stainless steel. Keep children away from the unit while waiting for a replacement tip restraint kit. Consumers will need to provide photographic evidence of destruction or disposal of the product to receive a replacement tip restraint kit from Cranach Hardware.

The shades violate the federal rule for window coverings and present a substantial product hazard. In addition, the shades also violate labeling requirements for window coverings.

    Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled shades and contact Autoez for a full refund. Consumers should remove the shades, cut the operating cord, write the word "Recalled" on the shades and dispose of the product in the garbage. In addition, the recalled baby loungers come with crib bumpers, which are banned by the Federal Safe Sleep for Babies Act because the padded crib bumpers can obstruct breathing, posing a risk of serious injury or death to infants from suffocation.

    Hazard: The recalled toys violate the mandatory standard for toys containing button batteries because the compartment that holds the batteries in the remote can be accessed without the use of a common household tool. If button cell or coin batteries are swallowed, the ingested batteries can cause serious injuries, including internal chemical burns and death.

    Bestway, Intex, and Polygroup Recall Certain Above-Ground Pools 48 Inches and Taller Due to Drowning Hazard; Nine Deaths Reported; Five Million Pools Sold Since 2002

    Hazard: The compression strap that surrounds the outside of the pool legs may create a foothold, allowing a child access to the pool, posing a drowning risk.

    Remedy: Consumers should contact Bestway, Intex or Polygroup to request a repair kit. In the interim consumers should ensure that children cannot access the pool unattended or, alternatively, drain the pool until the repair can be installed.

    Fisher-Price Reannounces Recall of 4.7 Million Rock 'n Play Sleepers; At Least Eight Deaths Occurred After Recall

    Hazard: Infant fatalities have occurred in the Rock 'n Play Sleepers, after the infants rolled from their back to their stomach or side while unrestrained, or under other circumstances.

    Remedy: Consumers should stop using the Rock 'n Play immediately and contact Fisher-Price for a refund or voucher. It is illegal to sell or distribute the recalled sleepers.
